Creating your own dashboard

Creating your own dashboard

This guide walks you through how to create a custom dashboard tailored to your operational needs. Dashboards are configurable views that allow you to monitor relevant data across modules like Energy, Lighting, Space, Assets, and more, using widgets.

1. Accessing Dashboard Management

To begin creating a dashboard:

  1. Navigate to the Dashboard Home.

  2. Click on the “Manage” button located on the top right corner.

  3. The Dashboard Management Table will open.

2. Creating a New Dashboard

  1. In the Dashboard Management Table, click “Add Dashboard”.

  2. Enter the following details:

    • Dashboard Name – Give your dashboard a unique, descriptive name.

    • Filter Level – Choose the scope of the dashboard: None, Floor, Building, Building-wise, Floor-wise, Building & Floor, or City-wise.

  3. Click Save.

This will redirect you to the Dashboard Creation Board.

3. Adding Widgets

  1. On the creation board, click “Add Widget”.

  2. Choose widgets from various modules such as:

    • Energy – Consumption trends, cost breakdowns

    • Lighting – Real-time status, consumption data

    • Space – Occupancy analytics

    • Assets – Asset health and usage

    • Maintenance – Open tickets, work order summaries

  3. Drag and drop widgets to arrange your layout.

  4. Once complete, click “Save Dashboard”.

4. Resizing, Creating & Rearranging Widgets

You can customize the layout and behavior of widgets to better suit your dashboard objectives:

  • Resize Widgets
Hover over the edges or corners of a widget. A drag handle will appear, allowing you to resize it horizontally, vertically, or both.

  • Move or Rearrange Widgets
Click and hold on the widget’s header bar, then drag it to your desired location on the grid. This allows full control over the dashboard's visual hierarchy.

  • Create a New Widget
If predefined widgets do not meet your needs, click on “Create New Widget”.

    • Define the data source (module, metric, filters).

    • Choose the visualization type (graph, table, number block, etc.).

    • Save the widget and add it to your dashboard layout.

  • Remove Widgets
Each widget has a remove icon. Click it to remove the widget from the board.

5. Managing and Updating Dashboards

From the Dashboard Management Table, you can:

  • Edit – Modify the name, filters, widgets, and permissions.

  • Delete – Permanently remove a custom dashboard (default dashboards cannot be deleted).

  • Activate/Deactivate – Show or hide dashboards from the main view.

  • Duplicate – Create a copy to reuse configurations.

  • Mark as Favourite – Pin the dashboard to the top of your tab list for quick access.

  • Share Dashboard – Send the dashboard to other users via email. They can add the shared dashboard to their own views.

Creating your own dashboard empowers you to focus on what matters most for your role and site operations. From layout to data visibility and user permissions, dashboards are fully customizable to fit operational requirements.
