Emergency Lighting Control

Emergency Lighting Control

Applicable for: All the Emergency Lights

The Emergency Lighting Control is a set of controls used by the user (facility manager) to (control) an emergency light device on a particular floor of a building. For all emergency lighting devices, a minimum intensity threshold (50% minimum) needs to be set and functions such as enable/disable occupancy sensor, individual config, and zone rule need to be configured. These controls are specific to emergency lights only.

Configuration hierarchy (highest to lowest)

  1. Set the light intensity for emergency lights

  2. Enable/Disable Individual Config.

  3. Enable/Disable Zone Rule

What are Emergency Lights?

Emergency lights are UPS-backed lighting devices that are powered On or remain powered On (depending from facility to facility) during a power outage or during an emergency situation (say fire) when the rest of the building power supply is turned Off.

Modifying Emergency Lighting Configuration

  1. Log in to your IQnext account with Administrator Privileges

  2. Go to Settings Emergency Lighting Control (under Device Management)

  3. All the buildings are listed here

  1. Select the building > floor for which you want to modify emergency lighting configuration.

  1. Select the checkbox Apply rule at the building level to set the same configuration for all the floors of that building.

  1. Set the following lighting controls

    1. Set the light intensity that you want the emergency lights to go on.

NOTE

Minimum light intensity that can be set is 50% due to safety reasons (at no point in any rule the light will not go below this intensity).

    1. Enable/Disable Individual Config.

      1. Enabling the config will allow the users to change light intensity via the map page but only till the minimum intensity set in the previous step.

      2. Disabling the config will restrict the users from applying any individual config.

    2. Enable/Disable Zone Rule

      1. Enabling this will make the light perform as per the zone rule. But in no scenario, the light intensity will go below the minimum threshold.

      2. Disabling this will set the light intensity as per the next config enabled in the hierarchy.
