Set Login Attempts Configuration

Set Login Attempts Configuration

To protect the system from non-authorized password attacks, the admin can specify the number of wrong guesses after which the account ( email id) will be locked out. You can specify the number of login attempts as well as the time after which the user could try to log in again.

(To Protect your platform effectively, you can limit the number of failed login attempts per user.

For example, you can say after 5 failed attempts, lock the user out temporarily.

If someone has more than 5 failed attempts, then your platform blocks their IP for a temporary period of time based on your settings. You can make it 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 2-3 hours, and even longer)

To set up the configuration:

  1. Log in to IQnext with your credentials.

  2. Go to Settings > Security > Login Config.

  • Maximum login attempts specify the number of failed attempts allowed before account lockout.

  • The Blocking time limit adjusts the lockout/ blocking duration before the next login attempts.

  • In addition to the above features, the admin can also block the user for an indefinite period of time by selecting the Block User Forever option.

NOTE:
Blocked users can unblock their accounts using the unblocking link received on their registered mail id.
