Map Operations Overview

Map Operations is a centralized page to provide users with a detailed and interactive overview of devices in their facility. Users have access to 2D floor maps which helps in realistic depiction of the device location.
The Left Panel displays a complete directory of buildings. It lists the building name, building location, number of floors, and the total area in a card format. You can use the functions on the top of the panel for searching, sorting, filtering buildings of your choice.


To navigate to the floor of interest, follow the steps below: 
  1. Select the building card you want to navigate to (you can also use location filter)

  2. Select the floor card, you will be navigated to the map of that particular floor. You will see all the mapped devices on that floor.

Overview of the Floor Map:

  1. The floor map is a 2D representation of the physical environment, the devices are mapped in their corresponding coordinates and represented through various marker icons.  Read More about device icons.
  2. When you click on these icons the marker will turn blue and the device information will be shown on the left panel. The total number of devices displayed on the map will be displayed on the bottom left side of the page footer.
  3. On the floor map, users can enable the following layers -> Wing, Room, Lighting zone and HVAC zone (VAV, VRF, IR). Read more about space hierarchy

  4. These zones are depicted through translucent shapes with dashed lines as borders. Clicking on any of these zones will turn the dashed lines into green color and the corresponding details will be shown in the left panel.

  5. The map marker icons indicate the real time status of the devices, when the devices are disconnected with IQnext, they get displayed with a red indicator on the top right corner of the icon , in case of any alarm they get displayed with a yellow indicator . 

  6. The status rings below the marker indicate statuses like occupancy/ un-occupancy, On/ off status of the device. The legend for the same is provided in the page footer.

  7. You can perform various actions on the floor map by using the button group in the bottom right corner of the screen.

      

      

Monitoring and controlling the devices

To monitor and control devices, click on the device of interest. On the left panel, the device details are displayed along with Asset, Work order & Alarm related information. Clicking on the options will navigate you to the respective pages. 
  1. Under the Info tab, you will get the information related to that device.
            

      2. Under the Status tab, you can check  the statuses of the data points of that device. By expanding the box, you will know the data                       collection method and interval.
                   

      3. Under the Control tab. You can apply individual override commands to the device. Click on the edit icon, 
    1. For analog values - fill in the value/ setpoint in the text box

    2. For binary values - change the Toggle button status

    3. For multi state values - select the command from the dropdown

    4. And click on tick icon to apply the command

           

NOTE: To remove applied commands, click on the button.

How to change rule? 

  1. Click on the zone, where the rule is required to be changed. Details will be displayed on the left panel.
  2. Under Rule details, you can view the description of the current rule applied

             
        c.  To change the rule, click on the change rule button, choose the new rule from the dropdown and then click on the Save button
              
Note: If you want to force apply the new rule to all devices and clear the individual preferences, check on the Force apply button and then click on the Save button


Button Group:  

Describing the various functionalities present in the button group

  1. Device filter-

Click on the button, a filter panel will appear on the top of the screen.

  1. If you want to filter devices by status, Click on the Status dropdown, select the status of interest. Eg: See only disconnected devices

  2. If you want to filter devices by their type, Click on Device dropdown, select the device type/ multiple device types of interest. Eg: See only VAV and AHU devices.

  3. Click on Apply

  4. All the desired devices will be shown on the floor map.

            NOTE: To go back to default view, click on the button, beside apply button

        2. Device Interaction Logs filter-
Click on the icon, a modal will open displaying all the actions performed on devices.
           
  1. You can check all the recent actions in the modal

  2. To get more details, click on view detailed button, you will navigate to the transaction logs page.


         3. Layer Panel-

Click on the icon, a modal will open showing rule zones and areas.

                
  1. You can change the overlay layers like Room, Wing, light zones, HVAC zones
  2. Based on the selection, the overlay layers will be shown on the map.
  3. Click on Set Default, to configure the default view every time when you open the screen.
  4. Click on Restore Default, if you want to go back to previously saved settings, if you make any changes

4. Map zoom function 
  1. Click on the + icon to zoom in the floor map 
  2. Click on the - icon to zoom out the floor map
  3. Click on Home icon to reset to the default resolution of the map.

          5. Refresh Button-

Device status will be updating every 3 seconds using the auto refresh method. If you have changed any configuration on other tab and want to see the changes reflected on the map

  1. Click on the Hard refresh button, which will reload the page

  2. Last refreshed time will be displayed on the bottom right corner of the page. 



  1. Search bar will help you explore components without looking around the floor map. On selecting the search bar, it provides four options; devices, desks, rooms, zones. 
  2. Click on any of them as per requirement. Then, type the name of the particular keyword you want to check and select it. You may also choose from the displayed keywords.

  1. For device and desk, a blue icon will appear representing the location on the floor map. 

 

  1. For Rooms, the entire area will be outlined with a green line.


  1. For Zone, the dashed lines will turn green.
